Mixing Patterns: Pin Stripes & Plaid

Hi my loves, are you guys Wintering well? I’m just back from a fantastic vacation and am currently so energised and refreshed! It was a much needed break..I’m planning to do a short travel photo blog soon! So stay tuned…

Back to today’s post, yes, winters are for full sweater & jean mode but its also one season when you can have loads of fun through layering and mixing patterns and textures. I am a stripes fanatic and you would also know about my Plaid obsession in previous posts. Winters are perfect for styling Plaid as you get several options such as scarves, jackets, shirts, sweaters and trousers in the pattern. Be careful about properly synchronising and not putting in too much of plaid in an outfit and rather focus on balancing. There should be one dominant pattern and another balancing accent. I have been loving this Plaid Blazer which is also currently my favourite winter wardrobe essential, because it literally goes with everything.

For today’s look, I thought of wearing the blazer in a different way. I’ve paired it up with a pinstripe shirt dress. Pinstripes are the modern day version of checks that we had seen everywhere in the past year from blazers to trousers and a slew of other avatars. And hey, who said you can’t wear shirt dresses in winters! I’ve added thigh high tie-up boots to add a pinch of high street glam to the look! The outfit came up to look better than I had imagined and I can’t be happier!

What I Wore:

Blazer & Dress: H&M

Boots: Street Style Store

On my lips: MAC Flat Out Fabulous

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures! I’ll see you soon with yet another exciting post..till then good luck and lots of love! Please don’t forget to like, comment and share if you like the post. Also, connect with me on Instagram @srirupa.b and on Facebook @fashionmoreorlessblog for daily action!
