Festive Style: Durga Puja Outfit Ideas Chapter 3

My dear loves, how are all of you! Today am back with the third chapter of festive outfit ideas for Durga Puja. I hope you guys are too busy with completing your Pujo shopping now.. ! How I miss being home this time of the year. So here’s what I would wear on the most important and coveted day of Pujo.

Maha Ashtami

I’m always an old school when it comes to what to wear on Ashtami. If you follow me on Instagram you must have got a sneak peek of today’s post where I’ve mentioned that I’m a sucker for sarees, especially traditional handloom sarees. The Saree is by far one of the most dynamic pieces of Indian clothing. It projects a certain grace and charm to a woman’s body. Yet, many of us shy away from wearing them and instead opt for the lehenga or anarkali instead. We usually feel like it’s only meant for really formal occasions or that it’s going to be too much of an effort to carry. You can be a rebel even in a saree, I believe. Nine yards of elegance, a tradition that has been passed on to every Indian girl from her mother or grandmother. It doesn’t see your colour, your figure, your age but embraces you the way you are. Manoeuvring through your curves just like ripples in the water.

So like all years, my Maa had sent me this beautiful handloom golden Bhagalpuri Dupion Silk saree for Pujo. And as all of us know, mothers know what looks best on you!  This saree is one of the most dynamic piece of clothing currently in my wardrobe and  it drapes like a dream. The colour is liquid gold and so light and easy to carry. I’ve really not gone over the top with accessorising as the saree is so overwhelming and such a stunner in itself.

I’m not a fan of matching when it comes to saree and blouse pairing, hence I’m wearing a multicoloured blouse with the saree which it gives it a vibrant look. I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures as I thoroughly loved wearing this saree and creating this look. I’ll be back soon with the next post! Till then enjoy and happy shopping. ❤️
