Effortless Summer Uniform: Off the Shoulder & Distressed Denims

Hey loves, am back again, with yet another exciting post and what seems to be one of the most ‘go to’ style this summer! Off the shoulder tops and dresses are having a major moment right now, and trust me they are here to stay. Many of you might be aware that off-shoulders have been much in trend before particularly in the Hollywood in the 90’s. It used to be a major hit back then, and now it’s back again and here to stay for sure. One particular issue that I had noticed regarding off the shoulders is that a lot of women actually think this trend implies model figures but trust me it is not so. Personally, I had my own set of restrictions regarding off the shoulders as I have a broad build, but I noticed that it has quite the opposite effect. The amount of attention off the shoulders can get you is indeed flattering. Hence, I hereby solemnly believe that shoulders are the sexiest part of a woman’s body.

Off the shoulder tops and dresses imply bohemian, effortless yet over the top femininity. And thanks to most of the retail chains, for practically throwing off shoulder tops and dresses at us – I believe this trend has opened up the way to flaunting the easiest and most comfortable to ‘show-off’ body part.

How to Style:

Styling Off the shoulder tops/dresses are as easy as styling flats. They have the ability to marry almost all styles such as crop tops, sheer, lace, cutoffs, palazzos, maxi skirts and what not. I have styled this white off the shoulder crop top with a pair of distressed denims. You may just leave it at there and pair it with a pair of white sneakers to sport a very boho-chic casual look. However, I added a beautiful chunky necklace (a gift!) and a pair of pointed heels to give it a glam look.

Where & When:

You get a variety of off the shoulder stuff in almost all retails stores – lace, sheer, ruffles, crop tops, just name it and you’ll have it. Off the shoulders are perfect from vacations as well as for regular city life.

As an end note, let me remind you that as lovely, strong and independent women, we should never really be seeing any of our body parts as a challenge. Each one of us are different and unique and equally flawed. What sets us apart is the way we embrace our uniqueness and triumph over our flaws. Fashion, I believe is not about hiding your flaws but rather a mode of empowering yourself by celebrating your body, just the way it is. So, my lovelies, if you’ve got those shoulders, you bare them! And as Queen B Beyonce says, “If you got it, Flaunt it.”
