Make in India: Handloom Dress ~~ DAY-to-NIGHT!

Hey you beautiful people! How are you? I’m so excited about this post and I’m quite proud to have got this outfit made for myself. As most of us are aware that India is worldwide famous for its handloom goods. From North to South, East to West, be it silk or cotton, from sarees to dress materials – we have it all and best in the class. So recently my very good and extremely kind friend took all the pains to get me this bright handloom cloth from Orissa. The state of Orissa is particularly famous for its speciality handloom sarees such as ‘Ikkat’ ‘Bomkai’ and many more. This particular cloth is called ‘Sambalpuri’ derived from the name of the state ‘Sambalpur’ where it’s been made. Its rich and bright blue colour instantly won my heart and I was pretty certain that I would rather have it made into something versatile and can be worn in every season (or atleast every other)  and that you can take it from work to weekend, or day to night. Hence, I got this cloth tailored into a slightly flared midi skater dress. I’m just taking this dress from day to night with a few easy styling changes..keep scrolling!

Today I took it from day (with Heeled Boots and a bright briefcase sling) to night (with a nude sassy pair of pointed heels, and a pair of ghungroo jhumkas).

I love that this dress as it gives me a girly feel without being too flary  PLUS it is so fun and twirl worthy !💃🏻 Most importantly it’s cotton which makes it light weight and breathable which I totally love, and kind of need for hot sticky summer (#sweaty).

For the Day Look I have kept absolutely simple and minimalistic with heeled boots. It will also look equally good with a pair of Brogue shoes giving it a fun and casual twist.

I’ve actually worn this dress so many times than I would like to admit. It has almost become by Go To dress for any occasion – It’s just dang comfortable that I’ll wear it anywhere.

Which one do you like?? DAY or NIGHT!
